Jeema el Fna food stalls at night. Some are utterly busy with several cooks and assistants milling around. Some are famous and others attract little attention. The idea that this goes one for a couple of centuries is fascinating. Of course there is a lot of change. Mass tourism has changed many things but the idea remains the same. This is the largest communal eatery t in the world and at its best I guess it feed thousands or more. Hordes of tourists and locals mob the place every night. The atmosphere is incredible and the smell almost overpowering at times. I love it all with the nose and smell and all. Its fascination is perfectly understandable. The clich that says that a trip to Marrakech is made worth by just one visit to this incredible meeting point of humanity has some truth going for it.
